Yo Wheelers:

Wednesday night rides have resumed!   Riders meet at 6:30 P.M. in the parking lot of Mom’s Dinner on the corner of Miles and Brainard, for a leisurely 10 - 20 mile ride, and a return to the start point for refreshments.  I am told this is a fun ride, so make a point of coming out.

Our Club Website is now being updated to make it more interactive and accessible.   In the meantime check out www.johnstork.com for ride schedules.  I will let members now when the revised website becomes available.

Both groups are now riding every Sunday, weather permitting.   The “A” group has a large number of regular riders for a fast paced longer ride.    The “B” group is much smaller, but not lacking in enthusiasm.  Both rides tend to be in scenic portions of Cuyahoga County, with incursions into Lake, Geauga and Summit Counties.

Anyone interested in membership in the Western Reserve Wheelers should contact me at (216) 241-6930.

May the wind always be at your back.  Ed Reichek

Yo Wheelers,

Do you remember the 1979 movie Breaking Away? Recently, I had the opportunity to see it again. The riding is still the same, but everything else has changed; clothing, equipment and wearing helmets. It’s still a fun movie and I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it before.

East side riders will be interested in knowing that a major catalog store will be opening a shop this summer on our side of town. I do not know if it will be a complete store with repair and servicing capability or just a retail outlet. I am sure we will see advertising when they are ready to open.

Club rides have resumed. We have two groups. The A Group for faster longer rides and the B Group or “over the hill division” for slower shorter rides. Please check the Club website for the weekly ride and map at www.westernreservewheelers.com

May the wind always be at your back.  Ed Reichek

-ADDED 3/28/07

Yo Wheelers,

As I write this column, I am preparing for the 2007 riding season.  Within the next two (2) months the Western Reserve Wheelers will be back on their weekly Club rides.   To that end, I have had my bicycle tuned up at my favorite shop, and new tires put on to reduce the chance of flats.   I replace my tires every two (2) years to avoid flats which seem to occur too often when tires get old.

I hope you attended our annual meeting on March 15, 2007, preceded by a free spinning class at the “J”.  Our premier map maker, John Stork, presented the ride schedule for the season.  As rides are always subject to change, be sure to watch our Club Website at www.westernreservewheelers.com to keep up on the latest events.    Ride changes will be posted.  Usually maps for the coming week’s ride will be available for down loading.   Take advantage of this resource.

Adi Gerblich is keeping up with his racing schedule this winter by including events in Florida.

Incidentally this summer marks the 35th Anniversary of the Western Reserve Wheelers.

Hope to see all of you soon.

May the wind always be at your back.

Ed Reichek
